Wash and clean surfaces prior to paint preparation. Remove any dust or loose dirt that may have settled on the surface to be painted. This is especially important in the last moments before spraying. If this practice is omitted there is a significant risk that the subsequently applied coatings will suffer from elements of dust visible in the final coat.
Pre wash and wipe panels and dry using a microfibre. This will give a good starting point for paint preparation. Ensure surfaces being painted are dry and cleaned to remove all contaminants. Use Paintman Surface cleaner 2800 for painted surfaces, or our Surface Cleaner 2802 for bare metal. These will remove oil and other contamination off the surface to be painted. Just prior to painting, wipe the surface with the Tack Rag to remove dust and other loose contaminants that remain. Its always surprising how much will be removed. Preparation is 80% of painting.
