Undercoats – Stock undercoat variations. This category lists all of the variations of undercoats that we hold in stock. All of these are used underneath the topcoat. The undercoats are used as a third layer when painting from bare metal. This is to get rid of the uneven surface from the filler primer. It is also used to get the colour more suited to your topcoat so the underneath surface doesn’t show through or effect the colour of the paint. When painting on top of another top coat then it is recommended that you apply a undercoat. This is to prevent the previous colour affecting your new top coat. It will make all of your surface the same colour. This is important as even if you had your previous colour painted in one colour the weather can actually affect the shade overtime compared to surfaces that haven’t been in the various weathers.
